The Center for Health and Human Services
Office of Prevention Science and Recovery
The MTSU Office of Prevention Science and Recovery (OPSR) utilizes data driven, evidence-based research to address the opioid epidemic in Rutherford County and serves as a resource to other Tennessee counties.
Funded through opioid settlement dollars, OPSR seeks to facilitate local stakeholder engagement to maximize settlement resources and serve as administrator of multiple county and state opioid settlement grant administration processes as well as provides technical support for prospective grantees and projects, programs, and research funded by local and state opioid abatement funds. OPSR leverages the large-scale grant management expertise and experience of the MTSU Center for Health and Human Services (CHHS) and the solution focused data analytics experience of the MTSU Data Science Institute (DSI).
Our Mission
